How to download a Pinterest video
- Open the individual Pin and check that it contains the video you want, rather than a static preview linking elsewhere.
- Copy the Pin's complete share link. An individual Pin URL or a pin.it share link can identify the content.
- Select video in the tool above, paste the link, and start the download.
- Check the saved file after the browser finishes. Confirm it contains the expected video, since a Pin may instead provide a supported image.
No Xdownloaders account or extension is needed. Availability depends on what Pinterest makes accessible for the individual Pin; the tool does not bypass platform login or content restrictions.
Pin URLs and pin.it share links
A typical address is https://www.pinterest.com/pin/123456789012345678/. The example number illustrates the format. Some addresses include descriptive words before the identifier; copy the whole original link so the Pin ID remains complete.
A short share link such as https://pin.it/SHARE_CODE must resolve to an individual Pin. If it fails, open it in your browser and copy the full Pin address from Pinterest. A broken short link cannot recover a deleted destination.
Boards, profiles, search results and collections are not supported as batch downloads. Open a specific Pin inside the board and submit its address. One request does not export an account's saved items.
Video, image and GIF boundaries
For a Pin with accessible supported video, the tool looks for a 720p MP4. If that video is not found, it can return a supported JPG or GIF image from the Pin. Receiving an image does not mean that a video version was also available, and a moving preview is not a guarantee that the required MP4 can be retrieved.
Accessible JPG and GIF images can also be saved. Other image formats and every kind of multi-page or interactive Pin are not guaranteed. The result is individual media rather than a complete Pin export.
If a Pin directs you to an external recipe, shop or video website, that destination is separate content. Downloading the Pin does not download the linked page or grant access to media hosted behind its login requirements.
What 720p means for your download
The current Pinterest video path specifically looks for an available 720p MP4. It does not choose from a full range of resolutions, retrieve a guaranteed original upload, or promise 1080p or 4K. The general quality preset does not change this Pinterest selection. If the required version is missing, a different preset cannot create it.
The upload and Pinterest's compression determine clarity. Enlarging the video will not add detail. Check whether the saved result suits your permitted use before relying on it for presentations or editing.
Extracting sound
Audio only can extract sound from a supported video that has an audio track. MP3 works with many players; original audio keeps the source format and may need compatible playback software. A JPG, silent GIF or silent video cannot provide music merely because audio mode is selected.
Saving on a computer or phone
On desktop, check the completed transfer in the browser's download panel. Open the file from Downloads or your chosen folder. If an image preview opens, use the browser's image-saving action.
On mobile, check browser downloads or the Files app. Images may offer saving after a long press; videos may open a preview. Moving files into Photos depends on the system, browser and format. A thumbnail does not confirm a completed download.
When a Pin will not download
- Open the original Pin to check whether it still exists and is accessible without restricted access.
- Replace a failing pin.it link with the full individual Pin URL, and avoid board or profile addresses.
- Check whether the content is a supported Pin video or image, rather than an external website preview.
- Resubmit the Pin if an old temporary download link expired. Follow wait instructions for rate limits and check your network.
Pinterest page changes or access restrictions can interrupt downloading even when the Pin opens in your browser. Keep the original source and permission records; saving a Pin does not grant redistribution rights.
