Twitter / X video downloader

Paste a public X or Twitter post link to download its video as MP4. Choose individual attachments from posts with multiple videos.

How to download a Twitter or X video

  1. Open the individual post on X and make sure its video plays. Use the post's share menu to copy its link.
  2. Select video in the tool above, paste the complete link, and start the download.
  3. If the post contains multiple attachments, choose the video you need from the media picker. Save each desired item separately.
  4. Wait for the browser download to finish and play the saved MP4. Confirm the clip and sound match the original post.

You do not need an Xdownloaders account or an extension. This does not make protected posts or login-restricted media publicly accessible. Whether a single-video or multi-video post can be saved depends on the media available from X.

Use a status link rather than a profile

Both https://x.com/username/status/1234567890123456789 and https://twitter.com/username/status/1234567890123456789 are supported link styles. These are structural examples: replace the username and number with the real post's link. A profile timeline or search page does not point to one downloadable attachment.

A media-specific link ending in /video/1 can select the first attachment in a post. The number refers to the attachment position, so a mixed photo-and-video post can differ from a post containing only videos. If the result is unexpected, submit the base status link and choose from the picker.

What happens with multiple videos, photos and GIFs

A multi-media post can produce a picker containing separate videos and photos. Selecting one item does not download the entire thread, all replies or an account's history. For a repost, available media can come from the reposted original. An external website preview is not the same as a video attached to X.

You can also save accessible photos and supported animated GIFs. X looping animations may be delivered as MP4. The GIF conversion setting can produce a GIF for supported animations, with a larger file and reduced image quality compared with keeping the video.

MP4 quality and audio choices

The downloader automatically chooses the highest-bitrate MP4 available for the attachment. A general quality preset does not request a different X rendition. The uploaded source and versions exposed by X determine the dimensions and clarity; selecting high quality cannot restore detail lost to compression or guarantee a particular resolution.

Use audio only for a supported clip with a sound track. MP3 is a practical choice for common players; original audio keeps the source format and may need different playback support. A photo or silent looping animation has no sound to extract. When a multi-media picker appears, it offers individual attachments rather than one combined audio file for the post.

Find the saved file on your device

On a computer

Check the browser's download panel, then its Downloads folder or your chosen save location. Wait until the transfer completes before moving the file. For photos in the picker, use the available save action or right-click the image to save it.

On a phone

Download prompts and previews differ between browsers. Look in browser downloads or the Files app; use the device's share or save controls to move a compatible file to Photos if needed. A long press may offer saving for a picker image. A playing preview alone is not proof that the video is stored on the phone.

Troubleshoot an unavailable X download

Keep permission and attribution records for anything you save. Successful downloading does not grant a license to redistribute a creator's work.
